Rochford Arts Festival

Thursday 12th – 26th September

Rochford Arts Festival was born out of the Rochford Art Trail, which is now in its eleventh year and is an established event in the Essex Cultural Calendar.  A group of local artists are working to grow the Arts Festival for future years.  This year will see 46 artists, 37 venues and 3 schools participating in the Art Trail, making it the biggest in the events history.  Other events such as music, workshops and demonstrations will be taking place during the Festival.

The Trail presents local art, craft and design in shops, businesses and public spaces around the scenic parish of Rochford, in South Essex.  The Trail attracts visitors from across the region, and further afield, who follow a route around the town to view and buy work from emerging and established artists, designers and makers.  The public are encouraged to engage with the artists through guided tours and workshops

The aim of the Rochford Arts Festival is to raise the awareness of the arts and culture available to residence and visitors, whilst making the arts engaging and accessible for all, encouraging them to explore the shops, hotels and sites round the town.

As well as individual artists, arts groups work with the Arts Trail highlighting some of the great work they do with the community.  Groups such as Open Arts, Trust Links, Rochford Photographic Society and Roche Arts Group.  Thanks to the sponsorship from Caremark Ltd (Rochford & Southend), The Rotary Club of Rochford and the support from Rochford Parish Council, Trust Links and Front Architecture the event is set to continue to be a success.
